Step into the magic at Lexington’s Night Out Gala on September 19
‘Jewels of the Desert’ will feature an evening of elegance and entertainment for a cause that changes lives
GLOVERSVILLE, NY– The Arc Lexington is bringing a magical experience on Friday, September 19, as it transforms the Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts into a dazzling desert oasis for its Night Out Gala: Jewels of the Desert. Guests will be immersed in jewel-tones, shimmering candlelight and the scent of exotic spices as live music and captivating performances fill the air.
This spectacular evening will feature live music by the world-renowned rock band FLAME; mesmerizing entertainment including henna artists, fire dancers, exotic animals and surprise performers; an indulgent multi-course menu of gourmet cuisine prepared by Union Hall; elegant décor and immersive experiences for unforgettable photo moments; and raffles and a silent auction with treasures offering luxury travel packages, fine jewelry and one-of-a-kind art.
This year, the gala proudly honors Mary and Ben Elmore, recipients of the Transitions Founder’s Circle Award, for their tireless advocacy for young adults with autism. Their dedication is deeply personal — their two sons are students at Transitions, with one recently graduating from the University at Albany, a milestone that exemplifies the program’s success. The Elmore’s passion also led to the creation of the Elmore Transitions Scholarship Fund, which helps students pursue their aspirations.
Transitions, a program of The Arc Lexington, is a nationally recognized post-secondary initiative that helps young adults with autism and other learning differences succeed in college, careers, and independent living. Through personalized coaching, skill-building, and community connections, Transitions empowers students to reach their goals, develop lifelong skills, and live fulfilling, independent lives.
“Mary and Ben have been tireless advocates for creating opportunities and raising visibility for young adults with autism,” said Shaloni Winston, CEO of The Arc Lexington. “Their commitment to our mission and their belief in the potential of every individual have had a lasting impact on our community. We are thrilled to honor them at this year’s gala.”
In reflecting on the honor, Mary Elmore shared, “Transitions has given our family hope, confidence, and a community that believes in our sons. This gala isn’t just a celebration; it’s a way to open doors for more young adults like them.”
Tickets are $125 per person. Tables of 10 and VIP packages are available, but seating is limited and expected to sell quickly. All proceeds benefit The Arc Lexington’s programs and services that empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
