The people at Lexington Family Services are vital to the existence of special needs families in our area. The creative solutions they provide transform families in the community.
Lexington’s Family Services supports over 200 families living in our community who are caring for a child or adult in their own home. Family support may take place at the family’s home, in the community or at a Lexington site. Family supports include respite; After School Program; evening and weekend recreation; childcare during school holidays and vacations; specialized groups; parent support groups and networks; and training, information and referral. Community Habilitation services include training and assistance to encourage a person to live, work and play as independently as possible in their own community.
Our swim program offers children with Autism Spectrum disorders the opportunity to work with trained therapists and other children to promote motor development and sensory processing skills through various aquatic activities. Socialization skills will be addressed by various group activities including sing-a-longs and games. This program serves children 3-21 years old who have an Autism Spectrum Disorder.
